It's still crazy expensive, but from all the raves I've heard from my friends, it truly is the best blender out there - professional quality blending no matter what you put in there. Totally pulverized veggies for soups or dips, makes amazing smoothies, and it does ice cream and peanut butter too. To say it's powerful is apparently a huge understatement.
