Busy mom. Hectic schedule. Long, thick hair that takes 35 minutes to blow-dry. Those things don't really mesh well together, especially before 8 a.m.
The other day in the midst of another crazy before-school morning, I realized there was no way I was going to find the time to blow-dry my hair before leaving the house. There was also no way I was going to show myself in public with the shiny roots I had going on, so I racked my brain for a great idea.
Fortunately I remembered reading a recent magazine article where Katy Perry mentioned how much she loved her favourite dry shampoo for extending the life of her blow-outs. She uses swanky Oribe, of course, which isn't available locally, but I popped into Sephora on my way to a meeting and was delighted to find several Dry Shampoo options.
I tested out (thanks for providing testers Sephora!) a translucent dry shampoo spray from Alterna called Bamboo Style Cleanse Extend and was thrilled with the results. All the oily shine at my roots - gone! Plus I got some extra body and lift back in my hair, and the light fragrance was actually quite nice! Price with tax was under $30 and I'm sure it will last me many uses.
Definitely part of my busy-woman-product-arsenal for life now.

This is exactly what I need for mornings with a baby - I never know whether there will be time for my hair any more! I do like the Bamboo brand from Alterna but I never tried the dry shampoo.
